EGWOOD - Fine Cabinetry -

EG Wood is a custom furniture and cabinet shop, located in Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

Although our clientele in mainly locally-based, we have done work as far away as Maryland, Delaware, New York and Virginia. In the last 27 years our business has grown through referrals, and we have established a reputation for quality at a reasonable price. Our relationship with clients is personal and face to face. Final designs are achieved through a dialog with the client which balances space, style, finish, detail and cost. This individual attention defines the term "custom" and establishes our focus on satisfaction. This discourse between customer and maker assures each product achieves a personalization that doesn't get lost in technology.

We are a family business, owned and operated by Ennis Grunden.

EGWOODWe work almost exclusively in American hardwoods such as maple, cherry, oak, walnut and birch. The style and character of each of our creations reflects our "one-of-a-kind" approach. "You should be able to buy a piece of furniture at a reasonable price with the knowledge that it is individual", the owner says with pride. Through the years, working in Hatboro, and the surrounding area, we have found a niche creating wall units, bookcases, libraries, offices and kitchens for residential clients. Today, however, many people do not request large cabinets with pocket doors to house TVs or extensive libraries for books as they once did. Home offices are smaller thanks to flat screen monitors, and AV components are thin, compact and multi-use. The degree of individuality we achieve can be seen in the diversity of products we have created, from an exhibit for the Franklin Institute to a kitchen for a local artist, as well as individual pieces both large and small.

In keeping up with trends and the economy, we have recently developed an additional line of
furnishings and decorative items for the home and office, beginning a new line of mirrors, and accent tables using locally made glass tiles as accents. These tiles are made in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The tiles utilize various slumping patterns to create unusual textures, mixing colors in rich and vibrant patterns, giving them amazing d├ęcor potential.EGWOOD Tiles framed to use as individual trivets or trays are currently to be seen in the gift shop of the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pa. We continue to design and develop new products to highlight today's styles and technologies, nonetheless, keeping the beauty of wood as our focus. This "less is more" philosophy comes from a re-thinking of fashion, values, materials, costs, and personnel in a modern business plan.
